Log Home Construction Types

When you purchase a home through Wooden Dream Homes, you can choose from several log home construction types to customize your log package. Our new peeled log option is available on our 10- and 12-inch log styles. All our log styles are great choices for energy-efficiency. Contact us today to discuss which style best suits your needs.

Standard Log Styles

Full Round

With a rounded profile, your logs will be completely circular without any corners or angles. These are available in 8”, 10”, and 12” sizes. Our full-round log style provides a traditional, rustic feel with a similar look on the inside and outside.

"D" Log

If you’d prefer flat interior walls, then our “D” log option is your best option. This style delivers the classic rounded look on the exterior, but we cut the interior side flat so that you can hang pictures or shelves with ease. This style is available in 8”.

Swedish Cope

Swedish cope log homes feature a clean, round shape. We carve out a crescent notch on the bottom edge of each log so that the pieces are stackable. You can choose from 8”, 10”, and 12”. Classic construction meets modern style with this option. 

Hand-Hewn – Dovetail 

For this style, we cut dovetail notches in the wood so that the logs can interlock perfectly at the corners. This is a great choice if you want to achieve a natural, woodsy cabin look. We offer the dovetail style in 6x12 and 8x12. 

Square Log – Smooth 

A square log profile features four corners and creates flat walls on the interior and exterior. This popular style is available in 6x12 and 8x12.
